Palliative care has typically taken place in clinics and hospitals.  However, there is a change occuring in the field and it is focusing on "home-based palliative care".  In residential care we are limited to how we can be involved with this type of care.  Like hospice care, palliative care is provided by an outside source.  These days many hospice agencies also provide a palliative care option.  This course will help you understand what palliative care is and how it differs from hospice care.  It will also help you understand how it should be adapted in your facility.
