ANAPHYLAXIS is a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. It may occur in adults or children not previously known to be allergic or hypersensitive. The reaction ranges from mild, self-limited symptoms to rapid death. Symptoms of a reaction can occur within seconds to minutes after exposure. LATEX ALLERGY is a reaction to certain proteins found in natural rubber latex, a product manufactured from a milky fluid that comes from the rubber tree. Latex allergy may cause allergic reactions ranging from sneezing or a runny nose to anaphylaxis, a potentially life-threatening condition. This course will review signs, symptoms and treatment of this latex allergies.

ASTHMA AND ASTHMATIC EMERGENCIES - Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways. It is best understood as the clinical result of two linked processes, airway inflammation, and bronchial hyper-reactivity.
