Online Learning Systems for Dyslexic Children

Coggno Inc. | Sep, 9 2008

Learning System Dyslexic StudentsParents with dyslexic children may seek new learning systems to accompany their children’s progress in school. The World Federation of Neurology says dyslexia is “a disorder manifested by difficulty in learning to read, despite conventional instruction, adequate intelligence and socio-cultural opportunity. It is dependent upon fundamental cognitive disabilities which are frequently constitutional in origin.” It is not an intellectual disability, and happens at all levels of intelligence. The major deficit of dyslexia is in learning to read at the word level, and learners with dyslexia need more practice to master skills in their areas of deficit.

Again, oftentimes the best options for special learning systems exist in urban centers. But moving a family elsewhere may not be possible, for economic or other reasons. Web-based learning systems are a wonderful possibility for many dyslexic children, as well as adults.
