Description
This course may be used for both initial and recurrent training.
This course is intended for the training of employees responsible for the handling, shipping, or carriage of dangerous goods by ground (road) using the requirements of the Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), applicable January 1, 2025, between ADR Contracting Parties. This course complies with the required training elements of general awareness and function specific training, as well as those of safety and security awareness training.
Learning Objectives / Modules:
Navigation of the ADR to determine requirements for the safe transportation of dangerous goods (DG) between ADR Contracting Parties, including:
- Introduction
- Classification
- Dangerous Goods List & Special Provisions
- Packagings (Non-bulk packagings, IBCs, & LPs)
- Packaging (Portable Tanks & Tank Containers)
- Marking, Labelling & Placarding
- Documentation
- Shipping DG in Excepted and Limited Quantities
- Transport Provisions
Target Audience:
Dangerous goods employees and their supervisors who work for shippers, carriers, freight forwarders, third party logistics companies, and who handle, pack, mark, label, prepare/validate shipping documents, and/or offer dangerous goods by road within the territories of at least two of the Contracting Parties.
Please note that drivers of vehicles carrying dangerous goods in ADR contracting Parties must receive additional training and certification in accordance with ADR, Part 8, Chapter 8.2.
