The immune system reacts to a foreign substance that is not generally harmful (examples – certain foods, latex, pollen, insect stings/bites, medications or pet dander). This course provides basic information on the management and treatment of allergies.

- Describe 2 signs and symptoms of children who present with allergies in school.
- Articulate management and treatment of allergies.
- State 2 possible complications of allergies.
- Explain why both an individualized Healthcare Plan AND an Individualized Emergency Plan should be developed for students presenting with allergies.
