Requirements
- Provide a workplace free of recognized hazards under VOSH standards
- Train employees on hazards specific to their jobs before exposure
- Cover hazard communication, PPE, and applicable industry standards (general industry or construction)
- Maintain injury and illness records (OSHA 300 logs) where required
Key Standards
- VOSH adopts federal OSHA general industry (29 CFR 1910) and construction (29 CFR 1926) standards, plus VA-unique regulations
- OSHA 10-Hour outreach training is a widely accepted baseline for entry-level worker safety awareness
Certification Details
- OSHA 10-Hour completion cards are issued through the DOL Outreach program
- Hazard-specific training should be documented and refreshed when conditions or standards change

- Serious violations up to approximately $16,131 per violation
- Willful or repeat violations up to approximately $161,323 per violation
