Beginning in 2020, California enacted the California Consumer Privacy Act or CCPA. It radically changed how you have to treat your customers' data, what data customers can access, and what penalties apply for consumer data breaches. In January of 2023, the California Privacy Rights Act, or CPRA, amended and expanded the scope of the CCPA.
