Description
Mandated reporters are individuals required by law to report suspected child abuse and neglect. The Federal Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) requires that each state have procedures in place requiring certain individuals to report suspected child abuse and neglect.
The California General Mandated Reporter Training provides an overview of the definitions, requirements, and protections associated with being a mandated reporter in California. The General Training is all-inclusive, non-profession specific, and should be taken by every mandated reporter.
This course meets the training requirements set forth in California AB 506 and SB848, which require that staff and regular volunteers of youth service organizations take training on recognizing child abuse and neglect.
