In the 1970's, our founder was crippled in a mining accident. His training for the job consisted of 45 minutes of instructions on how to drive a TEREX rock truck fully loaded up and down a mountain. The training was inadequate and am paying the consequences for the rest of my life. We understand that an injured employee and his employer are not the only ones affected by an incident. Entire families are affected, many times for generations. That's why we are in this business, to make training available (and affordable) for anyone to assist in preventing injuries at work or home.

Engineering controls come first — enclosing or confining the operation, adding general or local ventilation, or substituting a less toxic material to prevent contaminated air before it reaches a worker's lungs.
Respirators are used when engineering controls aren't feasible on their own, or while those controls are still being put in place, to protect against dusts, fumes, mists, gases, and vapors already in the air.
The course covers contamination from harmful dusts, fogs, fumes, mists, gases, smokes, sprays, and vapors that can cause occupational breathing-related illness if left uncontrolled.
Stopping contamination at the source through ventilation or substitution removes the hazard for everyone in the area, while a respirator only protects the individual wearing it correctly.
Replacing a more toxic material with a less toxic one reduces the contamination reaching the air before any worker needs to rely on a respirator for protection.
