Description
Is a college or university responsible for crimes committed off campus? On public property? What about branch locations? Crimes committed off campus and even adjacent sidewalks and streets must be reported. Branch locations are a separate campus for reporting purposes.
As of January 1, 2021 the Clery Handbook has been replaced by the Clery Act Appendix for greater flexibility but more responsibilities concerning compliance.
Dozens of colleges and universities have been hit with penalties in the millions of dollars for failure to comply and have also lost federal funding. But more importantly, colleges and universities must train employees to prevent assaults and loss of human life.
Topics Covered in this Program:
- Determining what constitutes Clery Geography
- How to file a complaint
- Where to file Annual Fire and Security Reports
