Explain and recall cylinder safety systems.
Recall and practice safe use, handling and storage of compressed gas cylinders.

Description

Medical gases are prescription drugs that carry significant safety risks if improperly used, handled, or stored. From oxygen and nitrous oxide to carbon dioxide and other compressed gases used in clinical and surgical settings, mismanagement of these substances can result in serious injury or death to employees and patients, as well as fire, explosion, and property damage. This course is designed to ensure healthcare workers understand their responsibilities under the regulations and guidelines established by OSHA, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Learners will gain a thorough understanding of the hazards associated with compressed gases and the specific risks they present in healthcare environments. The course covers cylinder labeling, color coding, and identification requirements — equipping employees to correctly identify gases and avoid potentially life-threatening mix-ups. Learners will also explore cylinder safety systems, including pressure relief devices and valve protection mechanisms, and develop a working knowledge of safe use practices for compressed gas in clinical and procedural settings.

A dedicated module on safe transport and storage ensures employees understand how to move and store compressed gas cylinders in full compliance with applicable regulations, minimizing the risk of accidents, leaks, or catastrophic failures.

Our Story: From Service Members to Service Providers

Evolve eLearning Solutions started in 2003 with a simple observation: compliance training didn’t have to be painful. Founded by veterans of the United States Marine Corps and Navy, we brought a service-first mentality to an industry that often felt like an afterthought.

In the military, training isn’t optional—it’s how you stay mission-ready. We saw organizations struggling with the same challenge: keeping teams trained, compliant, and confident without derailing daily operations. The solutions available were either overpriced, overcomplicated, or both.

So, we built something different. Training that respects people’s time. Support that actually solves problems. Pricing that makes sense for real budgets. No enterprise sales pitches, no feature bloat—just effective compliance training delivered by people who understand what it means to serve.

Two decades later, that approach hasn’t changed. We’ve grown from a handful of courses to a comprehensive library covering OSHA, HIPAA, HR/EEO, and more. But we’re still the same team that picks up the phone, remembers your name, and treats your compliance challenges like they matter—because they do.
