The Americans with Disabilities Act, also known as the ADA, was a groundbreaking law passed in 1990 that protected those with disabilities from discrimination in the workplace and beyond. The Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act, or the ADAA, was passed in 2008 and expanded protections to more Americans. If you're a qualified applicant for a job and have a disability, have a record of having a disability in the past, or even just have a relationship or association with a person who has a disability, you can benefit from understanding the protections offered by the ADA and the ADAA.
